Novinger Field Oil & Gas Data

General Field Information

Produces Oil: Yes Produces Gas: Yes
Exploration Method: Regional subsurface geology
Drilling Casing Practices: The wells were drilled to their respective total depths with rotary tools. The casing program of most wells included a 13 3/8" surface string at a depth of about 650 feet, an intermediate string of 9 5/8" to 2700 feet and an oil string of 5 1/2" to the total depth. In most of the wells, the three casing strings were cemented with 500, 800 and 400 sacks, respectively. The oil string was perforated opposite the pay sections with six shots per foot. Most of the wells were acidized with amounts ranging from 500 to 2500 gallons of 15% acid. Sixteen of the Marmaton wells were completed as pumpers, while the remainder were completed as flowing wells.

MARMATON
(Marmaton Group)

Depth Top: 5270 feet
Formation Lithology: A reef shaped body composed of fragmental, oolitic and "oolicastic" limestone
Trap Type: North-south trending depositional ridge of porous clastic limestone with regional dip to southeast controlling strike of oil-water contact.

MARMATON (Marmaton Group)
Oil & Gas Production Information

Produces Oil: Yes
Drive Mechanism: The original drive was gas expansion. In April 1956, a water injection (pressure maintenance) system was installed after field unitization. At that time 34 of the wells were completed as producers in the Marmaton pay. In addition four other wells were completed as gas or oil wells in horizons below the Marmaton. The field has been producing by this method since that date.
Proven Production: 2400 acres
