10 RESIDUAL 2.2 ft.
9 SANDSTONE--"quartzite," gray with some yellow, (may not be in place), looks like residual, probably washed under "quartzite" 2.2 ft.
8 CLAY--silty, yellow with some concretionary limonite 2.6 ft.
7 CLAY--fairly plastic, gray, looks like bottom bed, very little stain 3.4 ft.
6 CLAY--silty, light to medium gray, some red mottling and yellow stain, considerable amount of small pyrite especially in weathered seams 8.0 ft.
5 CLAY--fairly plastic, slightly silty, gray and red mottled, yellow stains on joints and slickensides 7.5 ft.
4 SLITSTONE--clayey, gray with some yellow, slight gypsum and pyrite 2.7 ft.
3 SANDSTONE--fine to silt, buff to light, vertical jointing, probably "marble" bed 2.2 ft.
2 CLAY--silty, buff, light gray and red mottled 5.7 ft.
1 CLAY--fairly plastic, gray, very little stain, some lignite particles, has steely blue appearance when dry, more of the same clay in bottom of the pit 4.0 ft.
