8 Sandstone and clay, light gray clay and yellow sandstone in thin horizontal beds, some places, a mixture of same occurs as if partially conglomeratic, 3" yellow-brown sandstone at bottom, 19" gray plastic clay, top 12" of clay has white sand streaks 8.7 ft.
7 Clay, light gray, plastic, very slight yellow stain, some lignite 4.9 ft.
6 Clay, sandy, silty, gray, with one thin yellow limonitic band 2' from top 3.0 ft.
5 Sandstone, yellow, fine, clayey, 4" bed of light gray clay 6" from bottom 7.0 ft.
4 Clay, very silty or sandy, gray, not stained 1.5 ft.
3 Sandstone, banded, yellow and gray, clayey 1.0 ft.
2 Clay, sandy (silty) gray, almost no stain, bottom more oblique than top 2.8 ft.
1 Clay and sandstone, alternating, sandy and clayey respectively, mostly sandstone, yellow oblique top 4.5 ft.
Note To the south of the pits, the sandstone, probably a channel, delta, bar or alluvial fan, thickens and replaces part of the clay. Some indication that the trend is NE-SW.
