1 Limestone, fresh color is a light gray with some scattered yellowish streaks, massive at bottom and thin-bedded at top; each bed at top has scattered chert nodules which are in the same plane parallel to the bedding; chert nodules are gray with white outer surfaces, some are oolitic; rock is fine-grained and hard; shatters when hit, but often breaks into blocks 10.3 ft.
