Outlier NW of Earltown, Kansas
Measured By Newell
Locality of controversy Newell vs. Elias

Unit No. Description Thickness
To all apearances the topmost remnant of a heavy limestone conglomerate rises above (not over 3 or 4 feet) above the base of the Plattsburg. The cg consists of coarse gritty quartz sandstone with lenses of limestone cg with pebbles and cobbles of limestone up to 2 or 3 inches in diameter. It seems incredible to doubt from the field relations that the cg is younger than Plattsburg but at no place does it definitely overlie Plattsburg nor does it underlie it. A continuation of the same kind of cg lies in Iola or Cottage Grove NE of Earlton (See map). Cg at C.S. side 30-28-17
