5 SURFACE EXPOSURE--clay as below, but much more hematitic 2.0 ft.
4 CLAY--plastic, light gray and red mottled, red is very hematitic 4.0 ft.
3 CLAY--plastic, light gray with slight yellow stain, two vertical streaks in pit are stained red, contains a few lignitic or carbonaceous fossil leaves and roots, tends to be platy 3.9-6.5 ft.
2 CLAY--slightly silty, light gray and very light brown mottled, with conchoidal fracture 3.5-6.0 ft.
1 CLAY--plastic, gray to rather dark gray, darker toward bottom, contains lignite and carbonaceous 3.5 ft.
