Unit No. Description Thickness
4 Winterset limestone, non cherty but otherwise characteristic for Winterset in this part of state. Has a 20 - 30 foot 3/4 mile North of this exposure 20 - 30 ft.
3 Shale - black - well exposed although not as great thickness as East of bridge South of this exposure, exact contact with limestone below is not seen. Yellow at base Stark shale 4.3 ft.
2 Limestone, rather light in color, earthy, marklets in crystals, few fossils - Canville 2.3 ft.
1 Sandstone, great thickness exposed down stream
