7 Hertha limestone thin beds and shale, definite zone (0.5) gray shale at top +/- 2 ft.
6 Hertha limestone, brown, earthy, massive +/- 3.4 ft.
5 Shale, gray, fossiliferous 2 ft.
4 Clay, yellow, residual from shale 26 ft.
3 Covered, clay seems to be residual from shale 27 ft.
2 Limestone, crinoidal, other fossils, abundance of Derbyas - (D. crassa?), other brachiopods, fossil fragments; bedding concealed yest weathers into slabby exposure 0.8 ft.
1 Shale, black, gray at top, rather fissile seems to be more blocky at base 3.6 ft.
  Note: this may be further South development of Hertha  
  Note: Later section below this to South shows relation of coal and sandstone  
  This show relation of B. Falls-Hertha. Crinoidal limestone and Crol (Dawson?) and Basal Missouri sandstone. But "Black Shale" section below Herthan is different.  
  Note: Lower beds exposed in Sec. 18-32-19E starts near this section  
4 Coal with coalified logs, logs are 5 feet long, 1 foot wide 0.5 ft.
3 Shale, gray, not well seen near mid 18-32-19 E but well seen near mid North side  
2 Limestone sandy (Basal Missourian sandstone, limy facies) +/- 1.4 ft.
1 Shale gray Squamnlaria sp, Spirifeis Cumnts 4 ft.
