Deerhead Field Oil & Gas Data

General Field Information

Produces Oil: Yes Produces Gas: Yes
Exploration Method: Surface studies
Drilling Casing Practices: The wells in this field were completed in open hole and also by setting production casing through the pay zone and perforating. All the wells were acidized during the initial completion.

Producing Formation:

VIOLA
(Viola Limestone Formation)

Depth Top: 4950 feet
Formation Lithology: Gray to cream, fine to medium crystalline dolomite, and white coarsely crystalline limestone with white and gray vitreous chert.
Trap Type: The stratigraphic trap is located on an elongated northeast - southwest anticline that is gently dipping to the southwest.
Continuity of Reservoir Rocks: The southern limit of the reservoir is indicated by a fault, while the eastern and northern limits are indicated by an undefined porosity barrier. The field is limited down dip to the west by an erratic water table.
