General Information

Hardesty Field Oil & Gas Data

General Field Information

Produces Oil: Yes Produces Gas: No
Exploration Method: Initial core drilling along the Adell anticlinal trend revealed an anomaly that was later defined more clearly by reflection seismograph.
Drilling Casing Practices: Production casing was set through the pay zones and each zone was selectively perforated and acidized. An average of 250 feet of surface casing is required.

Cumulative Oil: 717,781.78 bbls as of October 1998

Producing Formation:

LANS.-K.C.
(Lansing - Kansas City Supergroup)

Depth Top: 3542 feet
Formation Lithology: The pay zones are light gray, finely crystalline, cherty fossiliferous limestones.
Trap Type: Hardesty field is a local closure in the Adell-Jennings trend. A maximum of 24 feet of closure was shown with the well control used in the late 1950s. The west dip off the structure is very steep (100 feet in less than one-half mile); this zone of steep dip characterizes the entire Adell-Jennings structural trend.
