Hobrock Field Oil & Gas Data

General Field Information

Produces Oil: Yes Produces Gas: No
Geologic Province: Central Kansas Uplift
Exploration Method: Subsurface study
Oldest Formation Penetrated: Pennsylvanian Conglomerate Sandstone
Drilling Casing Practices: Set production pipe through productive zones. Selective perforation.
Electric Logging Practices: Open Hole Radiation Guard
Discussion: The original test well, Hogan 1, 15-141-20062, in the NE NE of 10S-15W-9, was drilled on subsurface data and a northeast southwest trend interpretation between the Mound Round Field in 9S-5W-34 and 9S-5W-35, and the Lacke area in 10S-15W-19. This original test had significant shows but was not commercial on completion, and was later converted to a salt water disposal well. This test indicated a high area and resulted in the drilling of the Hobrock 1, 15-141-20063, in the SW SW SW of 10S-15W-3, which was the discovery well for Hobrock field.

LANS.-K.C.
(Lansing - Kansas City Supergroup)

Depth Top: 3248 feet
Geological Age: Pennsylvanian
Depositional Environment: Marine
Formation Lithology: Limestone, white light gray to buff tan, finely crystalline, fossiliferous and oolitic, with oomoldic porosity
Formation Geometry: The Toronto and the Lansing-Kansas City formations vary from well to well as to porosity and permeability with the better development occurring in the higher wells. The individual zones of porosity are lenticular and vary from zero to approximately 8 feet.
