Short description: Aerial view of Cedar Crest and the Kansas River in Topeka in Shawnee County. Cedar Crest, originally the home of Topeka State Journal editor Frank Pitts MacLennan and later bequeathed to the state of Kansas for use as the governor's mansion, was constructed of stone and brick and completed in 1929. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
