Short description: In the late 1870s, Abraham Pratt left Yorkshire County, England, to homestead along the Solomon River in Sheridan County. After his sons, Fenton and Tom, joined him, the Pratt’s raised Merino sheep and built a one-room native stone house, similar to farms in Yorkshire. Later expanded, the house was occupied by Pratt family members until 1980. The state purchased the house, west of Studley, in 1982, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
