Short description: Kansas State Capitol in Topeka. Construction of the Capitol began in 1866, and the Kansas Legislature met in the partially completed east wing in 1870. The entire building—north, south, east and west wings and the central rotunda—was completed in 1903. The Capitol was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
