Short description: Entrance to Big Gyp Cave in Comanche County. The cave, site of the only recorded pictograph in the state, was among 30 Native American rock art sites in nine Kansas counties listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In addition to the Big Gyp Cave pictograph (meaning figures or designs painted on rock), the listing includes 29 petroglyph sites (figures or designs cut into rock).
