Short description: Battle Canyon south of Lake Scott in Scott County. Battle Canyon is the site of the 1878 Battle of Punished Woman’s Fork—the last engagement of the Plains Indian Wars in Kansas—between the U.S. Army and Northern Cheyenne. The battle site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
