Short description: Septarian concretion behind McKinley Hall at Wichita State University in Sedgwick County. Septarian concretions occur in the Cretaceous shales of the Smoky Hills region of Kansas and consist of networks of crisscrossing ridges that give them the appearance of turtle shells.
