Short description: St. Fidelis Catholic Church at Victoria in Ellis County. Construction began in 1908 and the building, commonly known as the "Cathedral of the Plains," was dedicated in 1911. An estimated 125,000 cubic feet of locally quarried stone was used in its construction. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
