Short description: Rock wall restoration at Spring Hill Ranch. Spring Hill Ranch, now part of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, became a National Historic Landmark in 1997. The 11,000-acre preserve in the Flint Hills, established in 1996, represents a portion of the 170,000 acres of tallgrass prairie that once covered the central United States.
