Short description: Fort Harker officers' quarters at Kanopolis in Ellsworth County. The officers' quarters, constructed of native sandstone quarried about two miles northeast of the fort, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Fort Harker was one of three forts established after the Civil War to protect the Smoky Hill trail.
