Short description: Aerial view of Quivira National Wildlife Refuge in Stafford County. The refuge includes 7,000 acres of wetlands. Annually, thousands of Canada geese, ducks, sandhill cranes, shorebirds, and other migratory birds stop over. The refuge provides critical habitat for the federally listed whopping crane, the state-listed western snowy plover, more than 340 species of birds, and hundreds of species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and plants.
