Short description: Hiawatha Hall at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence in Douglas County. Built in 1898 of native limestone, it is the oldest structure still standing on campus. Founded in 1884 as Haskell Institute, Haskell Indian Nations University (including Hiawatha Hall) was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
