Place Name: Schermerhorn Park

Short description: Schermerhorn Park borders Shoal Creek a mile south of Galena. A path on the north side of Shoal Creek leads uphill through limestone outcrops and oak-hickory forest. The rock is classified as Keokuk Limestone (Mississippian).
