Short description: Palmyra Post Office and Old Castle Hall on the Baker University campus, Baldwin City, Douglas County. Palmyra Post Office, constructed in 1857, served as a post office along the Santa Fe Trail. It was listed on the Register of Historic Kansas Places in 2017. Construction of Old Castle Hall, the first building at Baker University, began in late 1857 or early 1858. It opened to students in November 1858 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
